Volcano, similar to other solutions, is a browser-based solution. This means that it runs in the browser and on your device, and doesn't require any proprietary software to be installed.
It supports Google Docs, and other Google products, such as Google Sheets, Google Forms, Google Slides, and many others. All of these can be used to collaborate in real-time and to share your work with other people.
Volcano offers more than just editing of the document. It also offers a live chat option, where you can chat with people who have their documents open.
